Govt. Polytechnic College, Palakkad is an educational institution owned by the Govt. of Kerala.  The admission and curriculum of the courses is governed by the Director of Technical Education, Kerala under the guidance of AICTE.

Part time diploma courses are conducted for technicians employed in Industries in :

Continuing Education Cell

A three-semester PGDCA course is also conducted under the CEC.

The erstwhile Polytechnic was renamed as Govt. Polytechnic College as per the decision of the AICTE Govt. of India.
